About Us
About VIGILIS
Impact Lab
We are a student-led intelligence research lab based in Paris, France.
We sit at the intersection of Financial Markets, ESG accountability, and emerging technology — producing original analysis that tracks what institutional intelligence often misses.
Our Thesis
“Markets are rational.
Market narratives are not.”
Where does the gap between claim and verifiable evidence appear, and how wide is it? This is the Vigilis Gap — every report exists to find and document it.
Our Story
Built differently,
by design.
Vigilis Impact Lab was founded in 2026 by a group of postgraduate students who kept asking the same question: why does serious market intelligence always arrive after the fact?
We built Vigilis to answer it differently — with original research, structured analytical frameworks, and a commitment to covering what mainstream ratings and media overlook before it becomes consensus.
The name is Latin. It means “the watchful one.”
How We Read the Market
Three Lenses.
One calibrated view.
The Financial Lens
What it tracks
Market signals, sector movements, macro trends, investment thesis analysis. Revenue % YoY, margin compression, debt/equity, credit rating.
The ESG Lens
What it tracks
Governance red flags, ESG accountability, disclosure gaps, rating vs. reality. Sustainalytics score, MSCI grade, supply chain audit %, fines.
The Tech Lens
What it tracks
AI disruption, technology adoption claims vs. verifiable evidence. AI as % of R&D, disclosed tools vs. actual deployment, headcount shifts.
Our Intelligence Divisions
Four disciplines.
One unified view.
STRATEGY
Geopolitical risk, investment positioning, company strategy analysis and M&A advisory.
FINANCE & ESG
Financial data sourcing, ratio analysis, ESG disclosure audits and regulatory compliance tracking.
TECHNOLOGY
AI adoption analysis, technology due diligence, digital transformation benchmarking.
RESEARCH OPS
Data infrastructure, source verification, research methodology and editorial standards.
Sector Focus
Financial MarketsLuxury & ConsumerEmerging TechESG GovernanceOur VIGIL Framework
How we decide what to cover — and how we cover it.
Every topic Vigilis covers must pass all five tests.
Verify
Trust nothing. Check everything.
Intersect
See the system, not the silo.
Ground
Conclusion = evidence, not opinion.
Illuminate
Surface what is hidden.
Lead
Editorial independence. No exceptions.
What We Are Not
Clarity on
positioning.
Our editorial independence is structural, not rhetorical. These boundaries are load-bearing — they determine what we publish and how we frame it.
- A consulting firm — we don't advise the companies we cover
- A rating agency — we track what ratings miss
- An ESG advocate — we hold a standard (evidence), not a side
- Sponsored — nobody pays to appear or disappear from our research
- Accusatory — we describe evidence gaps, we never assign motive
- US-focused — primary coverage is European markets (CSRD, CBAM, EU Taxonomy)
